A quick follow-up post, before I step out for a bit ...

No part of the previous post was intended to support the fallacy that the only acceptable behavior is that which is biologically determined and unalterable, rather than volitional / chosen behavior. That would be an absurd position to take about any type of human behavior, not just behavior which is related to gender and sexuality. Both morality and legality (which are not the same) are, inherently and by definition, standards for assessment of the freely chosen and volitional behavior of human beings.

I claim my freedom to change my religion whenever I wish to do so. I do not base that claim in any way upon any kind of biological determinism. My freedom to believe and to worship as I please does not depend upon any argument that I was "just born that way" and "can't help it." Freedom is ABOUT choices, after all.

I hope that avoids that particular misunderstanding.
